You Said, We Listened
We carried out a project in order to improve employees working lives and lives of our families. The project involved suggestions from employees on how we can improve. These could be improvements at work, improvements to our benefits, or things we will start doing to save our environment. All ideas were considered and the overall idea was to come up with 52 improvements in 52 weeks.
Overall, there were lots of ideas on how we could improve our lives as well as our colleagues, here are a few that we put into place:

Guaranteed to have your birthday off
Colleagues have always had the ability to book their birthday off as a holiday, however, after recent feedback from colleagues we are now offering a guaranteed day off either on the day of our birthday, or the next working day, no matter what the time of year, as part of your existing annual leave allowance.

Increased training allowance
In our contracts, we have included a paid training allowance of 2 days per year for decades. We are pleased to announce the paid training allowance will be increased to much more than the 2 days allocated to support individuals development.
This decision was made after the realisation that in practice, all of our staff have been doing far more training than the 2 days allocated.

3 points for working bank holidays
To thank colleagues for working bank holidays, each colleague who works on a bank holiday will be rewarded 3 points, which will be added to their induvial point system. When colleagues receive a job well done or ABCD award, they receive points meaning that when a certain number of points is reached, colleagues would turn them into vouchers. Now they will be able to benefit from an additional 3 points for working bank holidays.

Cycle to work scheme
Cycle to work scheme is an employee benefit that saves you 25-39% on a bike and accessories. You pay nothing upfront and the payments are taken tax efficiently from your salary by our payroll team.
We initially offered £300 towards the scheme for colleagues to purchase a bike, but we are delighted to announce this has now been increased to £1000!
