Donna Burt joined the company in July 1999 as an apprentice and is now Area Manager for Aspire Training Team, therefore part of Tops Day Nurseries for all her working life.
“I began working at Tops Parkstone, and at this time it was the only Tops nursery,” explains Donna. “I have great memories of walking to children from the nursery to our Cheryl Hadland’s house to use the swimming pool, having tutorials in Cheryl’s dining room, who usually had a dog under one arm and her daughter, Jenny, under the other.
“I would not have achieved what I have today without Cheryl and Maria Thomas-Luker, now the Administration Director. Their patience and perseverance with me gave me the confidence to continue as they clearly saw some potential in me! Cheryl’s passion for expansion and development of not only the company but also her employees is contagious and drove me to be where I am today. I am now in the situation where I have completed my Level 2 and Level 3 in childcare, as well as my assessing qualifications, A1, V1, PTTLS and CTTLS, meaning I can now impart my wisdom onto future generations as Cheryl and Maria once did with me.”
Donna concludes, “The team at Tops & Aspire have seen me through many stages of my life including engagement, marriage, children, mortgage and everything in between, and through all of this Tops and Aspire have been my constant support, going from an apprentice to a wiser manager. I’m looking forward to many more years of success here.”
