e-Bikes Revolutionise Travel!

e-Bikes are making cycling more accessible

…with the additional ‘matched effort’ enhancement of the assisted motor, also making cycling more enjoyable. Although some might say e-Bikes are ‘an unnecessary use of a battery’, you can’t deny the pleasure of riding uphill as fast (if not faster) than going down!

Hadland Care Group has the great pleasure to announce a collaboration with Espokes bikes where an application for an electric bike pool grant has been funded by the Business Travel Network. An initiative set up and supported by Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset local authorities.

The purpose of the Business Travel Network is to promote sustainable travel to local employers, helping them to help their staff access more sustainable travel choices. Promoting sustainable travel has clear benefits:

  • Manage Parking Demand
  • Reduce Carbon Footprint
  • Reduced Business and Travel Costs
  • Enhanced Business Reputation
  • Improved Staff Retention
  • Increased Productivity
  • Improved Morale
  • Increased Health and Well-Being

With competitive quotes obtained, approval was received for the equipment and specification of the e-bikes, together with safety equipment being supplied by Espokes bikes, based in Basingstoke and Wincanton.

Commercial director, Jeff Everett, was fortunate to meet them at the Royal Bath and West Showground and learnt more about the e-bikes and how they could be a brilliant addition to Hadland Care Group. Having learnt of their involvement with this council initiative, he wanted to further encourage this environmental initiative to the business.

Jeff said, ‘As an organisation, we are passionate about making a difference to the environment and making changes in our day to day at work. Having already implemented various schemes to improve economic and environmental efficiency, including the cycle to work scheme within the company’.

He continues, ‘One area we really wanted to improve upon from other services being provided is to encourage cycling in general. Rather than just allowing the use of the e-bikes for working hours for business use, but additional commuting and pleasure riding outside of working hours. These bikes will be a perfect opportunity for our colleagues to not only get some exercise in for the day, but we hope to see them travelling to their local business meetings on the Espokes bikes to save on fuel as well as time wasted on parking!’.

So, whether used for personal or business use, you will surely find these bikes provide the best experience an electric bike can offer and help reduce your carbon footprint in the process.

Now go out and enjoy those hills!
