Meet our Sales and Marketing Manager, Zoe Roberts, who is celebrating 5 years at Hadland Care Group!
Zoe joined the company in July 2013 as Business Admin Apprentice within the Administration and Communications department and along the way has received excellent training and career opportunities offered by Hadland Care Group and we have asked Zoe to share her career journey with us..
“At first I was not sure about doing an apprenticeship, as there was a negative view in my head about apprenticeships, such as ‘making cups of tea’ and ‘earning a low wage’ etc. however I was totally wrong!
I joined the Administration and Communications team at Head Office initially, learning basic admin and customer service skills; within a couple of months, I was asked to cover our Administration Assistant’s maternity cover and when the colleague unfortunately did not return, I plucked up the courage to apply permanently for the role, even though I thought there would be more experienced candidates applying, however I was successful!
Following this promotion I wanted to progress my skills further and therefore signed up to complete my Level 3 Business Administration NVQ with Aspire Training Team and I took on additional tasks to support our Marketing Department, supporting with campaigns, press releases and blogs etc.
I quickly found that Marketing was the area I wanted to develop my skills in further and later when the team advertised for a ‘Marketing Assistant’, I immediately applied and was successful. I worked alongside our previous Marketing Manager and supported with various activities, however when they left in 2017, I temporarily covered all marketing activity across Hadland Care Group.”
Due to Zoe’s success in managing the marketing function for this short time and for her achievements in the Marketing Assistant role, in early 2017 Zoe was promoted to ‘Sales and Marketing Coordinator’ and managed her own Business Admin Apprentice that helped develop her management & mentoring skills. At this time, Zoe was working closely with the Business Development Director (Harriet Pacey) and shortly following this, was promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager at Hadland Care Group.
“Since this promotion, I have recently undertaken the ‘Buddy a Colleague’ Course with Aspire Training Team and am currently working towards my NVQ Level 3 in Team- Management. In my time with marketing, I have seen our Business Admin Apprentice be promoted to Marketing Assistant and we have now recruited another apprentice for my team!
