Writing your CV can seem like a stressful task, but it doesn’t need to be, follow my tips for success…
Remember this is your chance to shine – writing down your achievements is a fantastic way to boost your confidence too!
Few things your CV should contain…
Personal details:
You might think this is obvious, but I do sometimes receive CVs from applicants who have forgotten to include their name, email, contact phone number and address. So don’t forget to let me know how to contact you.
Personal statement:
This is your time to shine and stand out from the crowd. I want to know who you are, what you’re offering, and what you’re looking for. Tell me why you’re suitable in one short and ‘punchy’ paragraph.
Work experience:
Start with your most recent job and list your relevant work experience. Remember to tell me the name of the organisation, dates of experience and your key responsibilities.
Achievements:
It’s that time to shine again! Tell me how your experience has given you the skills to make you suitable for the role. Keep it factual and back up your achievements with examples.
Education:
Don’t forget to tell me dates, the type of qualification and/or the grade you achieved
Hobbies and interests:
We’re a family here, so we are interested to know what you enjoy
