The Aspire Training Team are currently looking for a hardworking individual to complete their Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship with Aviva Acorns in Bristol.

A custom built workplace nursery located in the Aviva building in Stoke Gifford, Bristol.  A contemporary building, modern, light and airy and filled with the finest toys and purpose made equipment, designed to entertain and stimulate tiny minds.

There is a balance between structured learning through child-initiated activities and those directed by a Key Carer. A well planned curriculum gives children opportunities to be creatively involved in their own learning which must build on their ability, interests and understanding.

Your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • Assume overall responsibility to promote high quality provision for children
  • Working as part of a team to ensure a safe, stimulating environment for each individual child
  • Fulfilling legal and statutory requirements
  • Acting as a Key Carer for a group of children providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care, implementing daily routines and liaising with parents and carers on a regular basis
  • Ensure the nursery provides a high quality, safe and stimulating early years environment in which children are able to explore, play and learn through both planned activities and those of their own choosing
  • To meet the care and learning needs of individual children
  • Plan, prepare and implement age/stage appropriate activities which meet children’s individual developmental needs in line with the Early Years at Acorns and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), including evaluation, assessment and identification of next steps for learning in conjunction with other staff
  • Liaise with, provide support and maintain a professional relationship with parents, carers and any other family members at all times
  • Work in partnership with parents ensuring that they are kept fully involved and informed about their child’s activities, achievements and progress, and encourage parental involvement
  • Work with parents/carers of children with additional learning needs to ensure inclusivity by implementing our procedures, liaising with the SENCO and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team where needed

Hours;

  • Aviva Acorns provide a day care provision that run all year round Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00
  • You will be required to work between 30-40 hours per week with hours and shifts to be discussed 

Requirements;

  • To obtain a clear DBS 
  • GCSEs in Maths and English grade C or above is desirable or Functional Skills Level 2 can be obtained during your Apprenticeship
  • A good standard of English and Maths
