Job description:

The Aspire Training Team are currently recruiting for a punctual, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join Apple Blossom Day Nursery setting as a Level 5 Childcare Apprentice.

Apple Blossom Day Nursery is a friendly and caring family run nursery, having excellent facilities both inside and outside. Situated in the rural areas in Exeter, Whimple, the nursery cares for children from 0 – 5 years old. The setting has also been established for a successful 23 years, running 2 rooms and a range of safe and fun activities for children to enjoy outdoors.

Your roles and responsibilities would include:

• Line Management
• Tasks Staff planning
• Responsible for a room
• Following all company policies and procedures and leading by example

Main duties:

• Supporting children with personal care
• Supporting with feeding and snacks
• Preparing activities for the children
• Participating in activities with the children
• Helping with messy play
• Working with other team members to keep the setting clean and tidy
• Must be willing to get involved
• Adhering to safeguarding procedures
• Keeping the children safe at all times
• Following health and safety procedures
• Observing children Interacting with parents

Requirements:

• You must be able to obtain a clear DBS
• Level 3 Childcare Qualification is essential for this role 
• You must have GCSEs – English and Maths C/4 or above/ Functional Skills

Hours:

• This position is 52 weeks per year, working hours will be a minimum of 36 hours per week with shifts between the nursery’s opening hours of 7.45am and 18.00pm
