Safer Recruitment & Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
The post for which you are applying involves ‘regulated activity with children’ and it is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. It is also an offence under Section 76 of the Childcare Act 2006 for a ‘disqualified person’ to work in childcare. If you are a barred or disqualified person you must not proceed with this job application.
The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are 'protected' and are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. In alignment with our safeguarding commitment, certain roles at Tops Day Nurseries necessitate an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This thorough background assessment helps us gauge the suitability of individuals who work with vulnerable populations, in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. By submitting your application, you consent to undergoing this check if applicable.
