  Essential Desirable
Qualifications NVQ level 3 or equivalent

 

First Aid Certificate, Health and Safety Certificate

NVQ Level 4, Foundation Degree and working towards Honours Degree

 

NVQ Assessor/I.V

 

First Aid at Work

Experience At least 3 years post qualifying childcare experience

 

Minimum of 2 years management experience

 

 
Knowledge and understanding Experience and knowledge of leading Ofsted inspections

 

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

 

Sound knowledge and experience of financial management and budgetary planning and control

 

Understanding of Children Act and Ofsted requirements

 

Knowledge of 30 hours free funding and how to support parents to get this

 

Strong understanding of the EYFS

 

Financial Management experience

 

Learn all the Manager roles and responsibilities so that management of the setting can be passed over in the Manager’s absence

 

Knowledge of Nursery Management

 

Monitoring accident trends

 

Know how to devise activities for the needs of the children indoors and outdoors incorporating continuous provision

 

Excellent understanding of leadership and management

 

Keeping up to date with current practise by reading the relevant magazines and books

Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload

 

Monitoring and improving the settings performance (e.g Wage %, Debtors %, Income, Extra-curricular profit)

 

Contribute to outstanding inspections (internal and external)

 

Ensure accurate invoices are distributed to parents

 

Being able to lead and manage a team and motivate staff

 

Works collaboratively with colleagues

 

Resilient and demonstrates ability to work well under pressure

 

Good time management

 

Willing to work within organisational processes and procedures to meet required standards for the role

Ability to demonstrate creative abilities
